Pros
The 2010 Saturn Vue is solidly in the small SUV category, alongside the Honda CR-V and the Toyota Rav-4. The base XE represents a particularly strong value with its wide range of standard features and economical engine. The Vue has a smooth, controlled ride and car-like handling, matched with an especially roomy interior that can accommodate five passengers and good towing ability for its size. Mileage for the front wheel drive trims is estimated at 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway, while mileage averages a bit less for all-wheel drive trims. The Vue Hybrid Green Line trim gets mileage estimated at 25 mpg city and 32 mpg highway.

Model Highlights
The 2010 Saturn Vue is available in two trims, the base XE and the more luxurious XR, both of which is available with either a 4-cylinder or a V6 engine, as well as front wheel drive or all wheel drive. A preferred package upgrades the All 4-cylinder front wheel drive trims come with a 2.4L Ecotec engine that delivers 169 horsepower at 6300 rpm and 161 pounds-feet of torque at 4500 rpm. All are mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The XE V6 trims feature a 3.5L V6 engine that makes 215 horsepower and 220 pounds-feet of torque. The XR V6 trims come with 3.6L V6 engine that makes 257 horsepower and 248 pounds-feet of torque. All AWD trims utilize a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Vue Hybrid uses a 2.4L 4-cylinder gas/electric engine that makes 172 horsepower and 167 pounds-feet of torque. It is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission and is available only with front wheel drive. The base XE offers many standard power accessories, as well as satellite radio, steering wheel controls, MP3 player, auxiliary audio input and driver lumber support. The XE Preferred adds climate control standard and heated interior and exterior mirrors, floor mats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and power driver's seat. XR trim adds standard fog lamps and illuminated visor mirrors, with a navigation system as optional. The XR Premium trim features leather seats, interior cargo shade, remote engine start and heated seats. The AWD trims come with basically the same standard features as the XR Premium; options such as sunroof and navigation are available. In terms of standard features and options, the Vue Hybrid is equipped similarly to the XE Preferred. Safety and control are emphasized by the Vue's design. Stabilizer bars are included front and back for the 4-wheel independent suspension and 4-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock are standard equipment. So are electronic stability control, active head restraints, front-seat side air bags and rollover-capable head-curtain side bags for front and rear rows. The Vue also has a trailer sway control feature integrated into the stability control system; it detects trailer sway while towing and applies the brakes as necessary to restore stability. When properly equipped, the Vue can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

Model News
The 2010 Saturn Vue is little changed from the previous year, with the most notable change being the elimination of the Red Line trims. The 4-cylinder engines have a bit more power this year, and a much anticipated 2-mode hybrid model, also known as the "Green Line", will be available once again for 2010.
