Pros
The Outlook features lots of interior space, with three rows of seats for eight passengers. With the two rear rows of seats folded down, the Outlook has 117 cubic feet of space (or 20 cubic feet just behind the third-row seats). In mid-2009, the Outlook got an upgrade to its towing capacity, to 5,200 pounds. This full-size crossover starts at around $30,000, and can be had fully loaded for not much more.

Model Highlights
The powerplant in the Outlook is a direct-injected 3.6-liter V6 with 281 hp in the single-exhaust XE model and 288 hp in the dual-exhaust XR, similar to the power output of V8 engines. Fuel economy, though, stays within the realm of V6 engines, at a combined 19 mpg for both the all-wheel- and front-wheel-drive versions. High pressure fuel injectors and a new engine mount system reduce engine noise for a quieter ride. The Outlook uses a 6-speed automatic transmission, and available all-wheel drive assesses vehicle speed, throttle and surface conditions to split the torque between front and rear axles. Four-wheel independent suspension increases handling and safety, as do traction control, 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, and Panic Brake Assist. Six airbags are standard on Outlooks, and includes a rollover sensing system. GM's OnStar system with the Advanced Crash Response System is standard on XE Premium and better trims, and comes with a year of the Safe and Sound plan. Last year, the available premium sound system got an upgrade to the Bose 5.1 Cabin Surround system with DVD and nine speakers. The standard stereo has CD and MP3 playback and six speakers. The XR gets standard features that are optional for the XE, like dual-zone air conditioning; leather, heated front seats; Bluetooth; and heated mirrors. There are also a few options available for the XR such as HID headlights, performance tires, seat memory and a navigation system.

Model News
There are no major changes planned for the 2010 Saturn Outlook. Last year's upgrades, such as standard leather seating in the XR and a Bose sound system for both the XR and XE models, will likely remain, as will the direct-injected V6 engine.
